What is BMI?

By dividing your weight by your height, BMI calculates the weight range you are currently in, whether you are “underweight”, “healthy”, “overweight” or “obese” for your height. BMI is often used to help medical professionals assess the risk of chronic disease in a patient. Please note: your BMI only works on the basis of weight and can not calculate if you have too much fat, as it can not tell the difference between excess fat, muscle or bone.
